A Surgery Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina, is seeking a Certified Anesthesia Assistant (CAA) for locum tenens coverage. The role involves providing anesthesia support in a facility with five anesthesia rooms, under supervision of MDs, with no in-house call or pager duties during weeknights or weekends. The position offers day shifts with regular hours, and overtime is not typically expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in anesthesia procedures under supervision of MDs in a surgical setting.
• Provide anesthesia support in five anesthesia rooms using paper charting records.
• Work scheduled day shifts, typically 8 or 10 hours, Monday through Friday.
• Maintain compliance with facility protocols and documentation requirements.
• Supervise and coordinate with MDs and CRNAs as part of anesthesia team.
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to anesthesia standards during procedures.
• Perform duties with no in-house call or pager responsibilities during nights and weekends.
• Support the anesthesia team in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Compensation

• Compensation model is 'Other' with a 1099 tax status.
• Overtime is not expected but may be offered.

Shift & Schedule

• Monday through Friday, day shifts.
• 8-hour or 10-hour shifts available.
• No call responsibilities during nights or weekends.
• Regular daytime hours with no in-house call or pager duties.

Requirements

• Certification as a Certified Anesthesia Assistant (CAA).
• Prescriptive authority is not required.
• Ability to work independently with supervision from MDs.
• Experience with anesthesia support in a surgical setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of anesthesia procedures and safety protocols.
• Comfort with paper-based charting documentation.
• Availability to work scheduled day shifts, Monday through Friday.

• Ability to adapt to a facility with a CRNA to MD ratio of 5:1.
