We are seeking a full-time Certified Anesthesia Assistant (CAA) to join the Collaborative Anesthesiology Team at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. The role involves providing high-quality anesthesia care across a diverse patient population in a state-of-the-art facility, with opportunities for teaching residents and students. Responsibilities

  • Deliver anesthesia care for a variety of cases, excluding major trauma, transplant, and obstetrics.
  • Perform peripheral nerve blocks using ultrasound regional techniques.
  • Collaborate with a team of anesthesiologists, surgeons, and staff within a medical direction model (1:2, 1:3, or 1:4).
  • Provide anesthesia for patients ranging from 6 months old to adults, including healthy pediatric patients.
  • Participate in patient assessment, monitoring, and management during procedures.
  • Support a patient draw base of over 500,000 in a Level 3 trauma center setting.
  • Engage in a flexible shift schedule, including options from 7 am to 3 pm, 5 pm, or 7 pm, based on schedule needs.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered care environment focused on excellence and safety.

Compensation

  • Salary range of $220,000 to $260,000 based on experience.
  • Additional income through sign-on bonus ($30,000), retention bonus, performance bonus, and profit sharing.
  • Relocation assistance available.
  • Annual retention and performance bonuses.
  • Guaranteed post-call time off and above-average annual PTO of 29 days.
  • Occurrence-based malpractice insurance coverage.

Requirements

  • Certified Anesthesia Assistant (CAA) credential or equivalent.
  • Active or eligible Indiana license.
  • Strong ultrasound regional anesthesia skills, including peripheral nerve blocks.
  • Experience with diverse case types and patient populations.
  • Excellent communication and team-oriented skills.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
  • ACLS and BLS certification.
  • Experience in a hospital setting, preferably in a Level 3 trauma center.
  • Willingness to support a flexible work schedule and participate in teaching activities if desired.
