The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (Women's Health) provides comprehensive primary care services for ambulatory patients in collaboration with physicians. The role involves assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, prescription writing, and patient follow-up within the scope of training and protocols, contributing to quality improvement and participating in staff and educational activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient care within scope of training, including assessment, data interpretation, treatment planning, prescriptions, referrals, and procedures as appropriate.
• Attend staff and provider meetings and participate in health center committees to ensure quality of care.
• Engage in peer review, performance evaluations, and quality improvement activities.
• Manage a patient load of approximately 20 patients per day, with productivity monitored and potential incentives or penalties based on performance.
• Collaborate with health center physicians and assist in training students as needed.
• Participate in Continuing Medical Education and Life Support Training to maintain clinical skills and licensure requirements.
• Maintain current immunization and PPD status and ensure personal health necessary for job performance.
• Report any issues related to drugs, licensing, discipline, or serious concerns to the Medical Director.

Requirements

• RN, Masters, or Nurse Doctorate (ND) certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Health, or Medical Sciences from ARC-PA accredited program.
• Certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, National Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, or equivalent, or certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
• State licensure to practice medicine in Tennessee.
