The Ohio State University Medical Center is seeking a certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to join the Specialty Care | Health System Anesthesiology Services team. The role involves providing anesthesia care, managing complex cases, and collaborating with anesthesiologists to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. The position requires adherence to institutional guidelines and professional standards, with opportunities for clinical research and staff education.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care and manage complex, unpredictable anesthesia cases.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists and the patient care team to develop and implement anesthesia plans.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state medical board statutes, and anesthesia protocols.
• Participate in staff education and clinical research activities related to anesthesia practice.
• Maintain accurate documentation of anesthesia procedures and patient care activities.
• Adhere to safety standards and quality improvement initiatives.
• Manage perioperative patient care and monitor patient status throughout procedures.
• Contribute to a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect within the care team.

Shift & Schedule

Requirements

• Master's Degree from a CAAHEP-accredited anesthesia assistant program (18 or 24 months).
• Current certification from the NCCAA.
• Current licensure from the Ohio State Medical Board.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Eligibility to obtain clinical privileges through OSUMC Credentialing Office.
• Ability to work variable shifts and hours as scheduled.
• Demonstrated technical, cognitive, and interpersonal skills in anesthesia practice.
• Commitment to patient safety and quality care standards.
• Experience in managing complex anesthesia cases preferred.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
