Calian is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner to join the healthcare team at CFB Goose Bay, supporting Canadian Armed Forces personnel. The role involves providing comprehensive clinical care, including primary care, occupational health, minor trauma, disease prevention, and health promotion, in a remote and scenic location. Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive health assessments using clinical judgment, diagnostics, and therapeutic skills.
- Practices autonomously and is accountable for clinical actions.
- Consults with physicians or other healthcare professionals when patient care exceeds scope of practice.
- Makes medical employment limitation recommendations following guidelines.
- Prescribes medications and orders diagnostic tests such as x-rays, ultrasounds, and labs.
- Implements health promotion and illness prevention strategies for individuals, families, or groups.
- Manages stable chronic illnesses (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, asthma) through referral processes.
- Refers patients to other providers or programs as needed.

Shift & Schedule
- Monday through Friday, dayshift hours (7:30 am - 4:00 pm).
- No evening or weekend shifts.
- No on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
- Licensed and in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C certification.
- Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.
- Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Experience in primary care, occupational health, or related fields preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
