Western Missouri Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join the General and Bariatric Surgery team. The role involves providing comprehensive surgical and bariatric patient care across inpatient, outpatient, and perioperative settings, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in inpatient, outpatient, and perioperative settings.
• Conduct patient histories, physical exams, and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
• Assist in surgical procedures as credentialed and appropriate.
• Participate in preoperative education, postoperative follow-up, and long-term bariatric patient support.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to develop individualized care plans.
• Manage inpatient rounds, admissions, discharges, and consults.
• Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards of care.

Requirements

• Current Missouri licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Experience in general surgery, bariatrics, or related surgical specialty preferred; new graduates with strong surgical interest considered.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills.
