This fellowship position is designed for recent graduates who have successfully obtained certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant and are seeking specialized clinical training within a pulmonology practice. The role involves providing primary healthcare, supporting medical procedures, and collaborating with physicians under the scope of practice for Advanced Practice Providers. The position is based at Patewood Memorial Hospital and follows a day shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all appropriate clinical pre- and post-procedure activities, including evaluations, consent, medical histories, and patient care.
• Communicate patient care information, including procedural orders, care plans, and discharge summaries, to relevant staff and patients.
• Assist physicians with technical procedures and support clinical workflows.
• Contribute to the department's quality assurance programs.
• Participate in patient education initiatives.
• Coordinate clinical research projects when applicable.
• Assist in operational assessments to identify revenue opportunities, reduce expenses, and improve billing processes.
• Report to a supervisor, manager, or director; no supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation

• Salary-based compensation model.

Shift & Schedule

• Monday through Friday schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Successfully passed certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Current certification in CPR (COTR CPR certification preferred).
• Knowledge of basic computer skills and office equipment.
• Ability to perform patient assessments and operate medical equipment (vitals, suction, defibrillator).
• Excellent communication skills for patient and team interactions.
• Work authorization to practice in the United States.
• Ability to work a day shift schedule (Monday through Friday).
• Familiarity with clinical procedures and documentation standards.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team.
