Carilion Clinic's Cardiothoracic Surgery team is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant skilled in endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting. The role involves supporting adult cardiothoracic procedures, including hybrid, minimally invasive, and robotic surgeries, as part of a comprehensive cardiovascular program. The position offers opportunities to work with a dedicated team in a growing facility with a new state-of-the-art tower opening in 2025.

Responsibilities

• Assist in adult cardiothoracic surgeries, including hybrid, minimally invasive, and robotic procedures.
• Perform endoscopic vein harvesting procedures.
• Provide first assisting during surgical operations.
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care.
• Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient management.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure adherence to surgical protocols.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Cardiovascular Institute.
• Support the clinical team during procedures and patient care activities.
