The anesthesia assistant (CRNA or Anesthesia Assistant) works under the medical direction of anesthesiologists to provide anesthesia services across various clinical settings. The role involves caring for patients of all acuity levels during surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, with shifts including 12-hour nights, 24-hour shifts, and weekends, on a full-time or part-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered anesthesia care under medical supervision.
• Care for patients across a range of acuity levels in surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
• Operate and interpret data from anesthesia and perioperative equipment to ensure patient safety.
• Collaborate effectively with clinical staff and other disciplines through verbal and written communication.
• Provide perioperative and operating room care supporting patient safety and well-being.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and adhere to facility policies and procedures.
• Support efficient functioning of the operating room and timely delivery of care.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles relevant to the patient population served.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Nursing with RN licensure in Georgia and graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, or a master's degree in Anesthesia.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting, clinical quality, or performance improvement.
• Georgia licensure as a CRNA or Anesthesiologist Assistant.
• Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
• BLS certification.
• Ability to perform clinically as part of an anesthesia care team.
• Proficiency in operating anesthesia and perioperative equipment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control techniques.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care and assess patient data across the lifespan.
