The Physician Assistant will provide evaluation and treatment for orthopedic patients, supporting physicians during office visits. The role involves assessing patients, ordering diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, performing procedures, and counseling patients, primarily during evening and weekend hours. The position emphasizes patient-centered care within a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Partner with physicians to deliver patient care during office appointments.
- Assess patients and provide evaluations.
- Order diagnostic tests such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and EMG tests.
- Establish diagnoses and develop/implement treatment plans with continuity of care.
- Counsel patients regarding diagnosis, prevention, and treatment options.
- Perform procedures including muscle, tendon, and joint injections.
- Prescribe medications, orthotics, physical therapy, and other treatments.
- Dictate clinical notes for each patient seen.

Shift & Schedule
- Variable schedule with evening hours (Monday - Friday, 5 PM - 8 PM).
- Weekend shifts on Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Physician Assistant experience in orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, physical medicine, or rehabilitation, or equivalent education and experience.
- Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants.
- Licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Orthopedics and spine experience preferred.
- Ability to work evening hours (5 PM-8 PM) and weekends (8:30 AM - 5:30 PM).
- Excellent patient communication and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to perform procedures such as injections.
