A Level I trauma hospital in Spokane, Washington, is seeking a locum Cardiac Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to assist primarily in the operating room. The role involves first assist duties in cardiac and thoracic surgeries, with experience in vein harvesting required. The position is available from May through November and offers flexible scheduling with overnight call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiac and thoracic surgeries as a first assist in the operating room.
• Perform vein harvesting procedures.
• Support surgical teams during procedures, including robotic-assisted surgeries if certified.
• Participate in overnight call shifts on a weekly basis.
• Work Monday through Friday with variable shift timings.
• Collaborate with surgical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards.
• Provide coverage as needed during the assigned period.

Compensation

• $170 hourly (1099 tax status)
• Hourly compensation rate of $170.

Shift & Schedule

• Monday through Friday with variable shift timings.
• Overnight call once weekly, scheduled on a 1:7 basis.
• Work schedule is flexible within the specified days.

Requirements

• Current medical license accepted in any state.
• Experience as a first assist in cardiac and thoracic surgeries.
• Vein harvesting experience is required.
• Certification or experience in assisting with Da Vinci robotic cardiac and thoracic surgeries is a plus.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday with overnight call responsibilities.
• Strong clinical skills in cardiac surgery assistance.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability to work from May through November.
• Ability to adapt to variable shift timings.
• Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred.
