Stamford Health, in partnership with Oula, is seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to provide comprehensive maternity and gynecological care at our new Norwalk location. The role involves delivering full-scope midwifery services, supporting patients throughout their pregnancy journey, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes. The CNM will also contribute to developing and refining clinical care models aligned with best practices in maternity care.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope midwifery care, including labor, birth, postpartum, and gynecological services at the Norwalk clinic and Stamford Hospital.
• Manage clinical oversight of patients through all pregnancy phases, including working with the interdisciplinary team to determine eligibility for moderate/high-risk patients.
• Ensure clear communication with patients during and between appointments to address questions and concerns.
• Conduct consultations and facilitate transfers to MD care as required by clinical protocols.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols to support effective midwife-OBGYN collaboration.
• Support resident training on midwifery models of care, low-intervention practices, and collaborative care guidelines.
• Participate in overnight rotational call, including weekends and holidays, as part of the schedule.
• Maintain documentation and compliance with clinical standards and protocols.

Shift & Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Overnight rotational call required, including weekends and holidays.
• Schedule primarily during daytime hours with on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

• Active Licensed Midwife (LM) license in Connecticut.
• Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) as a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM).
• Minimum of two years of post-graduate clinical experience in hospital labor & delivery and low-acuity maternity and GYN care.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and managing moderate/high-risk pregnancies.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with patients and team members.
• Ability to participate in rotational overnight call, including weekends and holidays.
• Commitment to patient-centered, low-intervention, and collaborative care models.
• Knowledge of clinical protocols related to maternity and gynecological care.
• Experience in clinical education or resident support is preferred.
• Proficiency in documentation and adherence to clinical standards.
