GPH's Health Care for the Homeless program is seeking a part-time Physician Assistant (24 hours per week) to provide comprehensive medical, behavioral health, and substance use treatment. The role involves delivering care in diverse settings such as street outreach, shelters, housing locations, and clinics, with a focus on trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles. The PA will serve a varied patient population, including those with little or no prior healthcare experience.

Compensation

• Salary plus performance-based incentives, including a bonus of up to 5% of annual base salary

Shift & Schedule

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Associate Program with a Maine State license to practice medicine and a valid DEA number
• At least two years of experience as a Physician Associate is strongly preferred
• Board Certification by the American Academy of Physician Associates or American College of Physician Associates upon graduation
• Able to be credentialed at assigned hospitals and contracted on Greater Portland Health insurance plans
• Must not be excluded from participation in federal health care programs
