The Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant) at Parkland is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in designated primary or specialty areas. The role includes conducting assessments, diagnosing, treating, educating patients, and collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams. The APP also serves as a clinical resource, supervises trainees, and participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance care outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop patient education materials and coordinate follow-up appointments.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate APP students, residents, interns, and other healthcare trainees.
  • Participate in community outreach, professional development, and quality improvement activities.

Compensation

  • $54.52 - $73.61 per hour

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Successful completion of an ARC-PA recognized Physician Assistant Program.

  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
  • Valid PA licensure from the Texas Board of Physician Assistants.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Proficiency in providing care in accordance with Texas laws, Parkland protocols, and clinical standards.
  • Strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and clinical expertise.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
