This full-time Physician Assistant role involves practicing medicine under physician supervision, including conducting examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and providing patient care. The PA will also participate in patient education, coordinate referrals, and assist in surgical procedures as needed.
Responsibilities
- Examines patients, obtains medical histories, and assesses health status.
- Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests.
- Prescribes medications and treats illnesses, including injections and suturing wounds.
- Consults with physicians and refers complex cases as necessary.
- Monitors therapies and ensures continuity of care.
- Triages patient calls, evaluates problems, and responds to emergencies including CPR.
- Coordinates appropriate specialty referrals.
- Documents patient information and assists in the operating room.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program.
- Four years of healthcare experience prior to PA program, plus one year of PA experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Current national certification from the National Commission on Certification of PAs.
- State PA license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical medicine, and physical diagnosis.
- Skill in patient assessment, data analysis, and developing care plans.
- Ability to perform complex wound closure in the operating room.
- Ability to make responsible decisions independently and collaborate with physicians.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and medical equipment.
