Kansas City University is seeking a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to serve in a full-time faculty role combining academic instruction and clinical practice. The position involves developing and delivering coursework for the new Master of Health Science in Anesthesiologist Assistant program, as well as providing anesthesia care and clinical precepting at an approved clinical site. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to a pioneering educational program while maintaining clinical expertise in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver instructional content for courses within the MHS-AA program, utilizing innovative teaching methods and assessments.
• Create, administer, and evaluate exams, quizzes, and other student assessments.
• Mentor, advise, and support students academically and professionally.
• Participate in program development, including setting goals, policies, and procedures.
• Engage in institutional meetings and academic activities as required.
• Provide anesthesia care under physician supervision at an approved clinical partner site.
• Serve as a clinical preceptor for anesthesiologist assistant students and assist with clinical scheduling.
• Collaborate with the anesthesia care team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

Compensation

• Salary paid by Kansas City University based on a 1.0 FTE appointment.
• W-2 tax status.

Shift & Schedule

• Variable schedule days, averaging 3 days per week for academic duties and 2 days per week for clinical practice.

Requirements

• Master's degree from an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant program.
• Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Eligibility for licensure as an Anesthesiologist Assistant in Missouri.
• Ability to meet credentialing requirements at the clinical partner site.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply; prior teaching or clinical experience is a plus.
