Anesthesia Assistant position in Atlanta, Georgia, providing locum coverage in a hospital and clinic setting. The role involves working with high-acuity patients across various surgical specialties, supporting anesthesia procedures, and participating in a care-team model. The assignment is ongoing, starting as soon as credentialed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with anesthesia care across multiple specialties including general, OB, neuro, plastics, transplants, vascular, cardiovascular, and pulmonary cases.
• Support anesthesia providers with high-acuity patients, including blood management, I-STAT testing, EP procedures, and major spine and stroke cases.
• Monitor patients during neuro, vascular, and thoracic procedures; no pediatric or trauma cases.
• Participate in a care-team model alongside MDs and CRNAs, with MDs placing epidurals and AAs monitoring.
• Handle cases requiring blood management, neuro, vascular, thoracic, and other complex procedures.
• Work scheduled shifts typically from 9 am to 7 pm or 11 am to 7 pm, with one weekend day call per month.
• Be available for one day of weekend call per month, from 7 am to 7 pm on either Saturday or Sunday.
• Wait for GA license approval to begin work.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Willing to wait for GA medical license approval.
• Experience with high-acuity anesthesia cases, including neuro, vascular, and thoracic procedures.
• Comfortable with blood management, I-STAT testing, EP, and major spine and stroke cases.
• Ability to work in a care-team model alongside MDs and CRNAs.
• Flexible schedule with variable days and shifts.
• No pediatric or trauma cases required.
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.
• Strong clinical skills in anesthesia support for complex cases.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
