Aya Locums is seeking a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) for a temporary assignment at an acute care hospital in Lafayette, IN. The position involves performing pre-anesthesia assessments, administering anesthesia under supervision, monitoring patients during procedures, and providing post-anesthesia care. The assignment offers competitive hourly pay and flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-anesthesia assessments, including reviewing patient history and physical exams, and discussing anesthesia plans.
• Administer anesthesia under supervision, including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care.
• Monitor patients continuously during procedures and adjust anesthesia levels as needed.
• Provide post-anesthesia care and manage any anesthesia-related complications.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Respond immediately to anesthesia-related emergencies.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
• Use anesthesia equipment and monitoring devices effectively.

Compensation

• $205/hour to $215/hour (1099 tax status).

Shift & Schedule

• Monday through Friday.
• 8-hour shifts from 07:00 to 15:00 (flexible start time).
• Day shift with no call required.

Requirements

• Master's degree in an accredited anesthesiologist assistant program (CAAHEP accredited).
• Certification by the NCCAA.
• Active and unrestricted medical license in Indiana.
• Proficiency in anesthesia techniques and patient monitoring.
• Ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to different clinical environments.
• At least one year of clinical experience preferred.
• Life support certifications may be required depending on the assignment.
