Kernodle Clinic in Burlington, North Carolina, is seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife to join their OB/GYN department. The role involves providing comprehensive women's health services, including prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care, as well as gynecological and family planning services. The position offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for professional growth, with a schedule that includes in-office work and 6-9 call shifts per month.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for patients across the lifespan.
• Conduct physical examinations and prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Provide prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care during the first 28 days of life.
• Manage patient education regarding medications, disease processes, and expected outcomes.
• Participate in hospital call rotations, including postpartum rounds, birthplace assessments, and patient admissions/discharges.
• Order and follow up on laboratory and diagnostic tests, ensuring abnormal results are addressed.
• Consult with physicians as needed regarding patient care and treatment plans.
• Adhere to OSHA, infection control, safety policies, and standards set by JCAHO.

Compensation

• Salary commensurate with experience.
• W-2 employment tax status.

Shift & Schedule

• Variable schedule days, including in-office work.
• 6-9 call shifts (24-hour) per month, in-house.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nurse-midwifery program.
• Current CNM certification and North Carolina licensure.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to perform comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Professional judgment aligned with NC Board of Nursing standards.
• Experience in OB/GYN is preferred but not required; new graduates are welcome.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility to work variable schedule days and participate in call shifts.
• Knowledge of medication prescribing regulations for advanced practice nurses.
