The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for delivering urgent care services across multiple Breeze Urgent Care locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating minor illnesses and injuries, performing procedures, and providing patient education under limited supervision. This PRN position requires availability for a minimum of two shifts per month, including one major and one minor holiday per year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for minor acute illnesses and injuries within an urgent care setting.
  • Perform assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, ECGs, and laboratory studies.
  • Administer treatments including injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound management.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, document progress, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Educate and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, wellness, and health maintenance.
  • Refer patients to specialists or other care options as appropriate.
  • Perform procedures such as foreign body removal, fracture immobilization, and wound debridement.
  • Coordinate with medical staff and ancillary personnel to deliver comprehensive care.

Compensation

  • W-2 tax status.

Shift & Schedule

  • Variable days, primarily scheduled during daytime hours.
  • Shifts are days, with a minimum of two shifts per month required.
  • Availability for work across multiple locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant program; Bachelors Degree accepted for Physician Assistants.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program prior to January 2021.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience as an APP in urgent care or emergency department, or 1 year in family practice or related field.
  • RN license in Texas and Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure and certification in Texas.
  • National certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license.
  • BCLS certification maintained every 2 years.
  • Suturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Availability to work a minimum of two shifts per month, including one major and one minor holiday per year.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple clinic locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
