Duke Health is seeking Advanced Practice Providers to join the Emergency Medicine Clinical Evaluation Unit at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. The role involves working in a Level I Trauma Center with a comprehensive emergency department, including pediatric and adult care areas, and an expanding clinical evaluation unit. Candidates will provide emergency and observation care in a fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling options.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and observation care within the Clinical Evaluation Unit and emergency department.
• Work in a high-volume trauma center with access to diagnostic imaging and psychiatric emergency services.
• Participate in patient assessment, treatment, and disposition planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality emergency care.
• Maintain clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.
• Adapt to variable shift schedules, including day and night shifts, with no call responsibilities.
• Contribute to the expansion and operational efficiency of the Clinical Evaluation Unit.
• Possibly work as a nocturnist, providing overnight coverage as scheduled.

Compensation

Requirements

• At least one year of Advanced Practice Emergency Medicine, observation, or critical care experience, or completion of a residency/fellowship in Emergency Medicine or critical care.
• Current licensure and certification as an Advanced Practice Provider.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexibility to work variable schedules, including day and night shifts.
• Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
• Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center preferred.
• Knowledge of hospital protocols and emergency procedures.
