Decypher is seeking a Physician Assistant to support medical operations at JBSA Lackland, TX. The role involves providing clinical care, supporting flight medicine and human performance initiatives, and collaborating with military medical personnel under the guidance of the Government Medical Director. The PA will perform patient evaluations, assist with protocol development, and contribute to training and operational activities in a military environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in clinics, training pools, or field settings.
• Supervise paramedics during field training and sick-call operations under the guidance of the Government Medical Director.
• Support human performance optimization and apply flight medicine standards for trainees.
• Assist in developing emergency and routine medical response protocols with final approval from the SWOMS Medical Director.
• Document patient visits in MHS Genesis, conduct peer reviews, and co-sign notes for non-privileged providers.
• Help with medical clearances and support human performance tasks at training sites.
• Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss patient care and student progress.
• Submit activity reports to government oversight agencies, such as HPUT.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current NCCPA certification.
• Valid, unrestricted license to practice as a PA in any U.S. state.
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience in family medicine, flight medicine, occupational medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine.
• Meet all credentialing requirements specified by the Host MTF, including certifications in family, flight, occupational, or emergency medicine as validated by the credentialing office.
• Current certifications beyond BLS as required by the credentialing authority.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays.
• Experience in military or flight medicine is preferred.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of DoD and military treatment standards is a plus.
