Wellbridge is seeking a Physician Assistant to serve as a primary general medical clinician on a per diem weekend basis. The role involves assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with substance use disorders, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans, and supporting innovative approaches in addiction care. The position emphasizes patient-centered care, cultural sensitivity, and staff development within a recovery-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage medical needs of Wellbridge patients, including stabilization and withdrawal management
• Provide primary medical coverage and consult on treatment settings across the campus
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement personalized treatment plans
• Maintain current knowledge of addiction treatment practices and promote innovative, technology-driven approaches
• Create a safe, culturally sensitive, and supportive environment for patients and their families
• Participate in clinical team meetings and coordinate with advocacy, residential, and legal teams
• Support staff development through training, counseling, and performance feedback
• Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives, including development of measurement-based care systems

Compensation

• Hourly rate ranging from USD 62.50 to USD 90.00
• W-2 employment tax status

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies
• Current Physician Assistant licensure in New York State
• BLS certification; ACLS or other certifications as required, obtained within one month of employment
• Understanding of clinical risk management
• Professional conduct and effective communication skills
• Experience in addiction or substance use disorder treatment preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to patient-centered, culturally sensitive care
• Flexibility to work weekends on a per diem basis
• Demonstrated knowledge of current addiction treatment practices
