Medical Director, PA Program

Le Moyne College is seeking a Medical Director for its Physician Assistant program. The role involves overseeing didactic and clinical education to meet current medical standards, advocating for the program within the community, and participating in accreditation and curriculum development. The Medical Director will also mentor students, engage with community partners, and contribute to program evaluation and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for the PA program within the regional medical community.
• Participate in ongoing program self-study and accreditation processes.
• Teach in areas of expertise related to physician assistant education.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with community and professional partners.
• Mentor and advise students as appropriate.
• Serve on departmental committees and participate in admissions processes.
• Review student competencies and provide feedback aligned with community standards.
• Actively participate as a member of NYSSPA and AAPA.

Compensation

• Salary of $20,000 annually (W-2 tax status).

Requirements

• Licensed PA, osteopathic, or allopathic physician, currently or previously licensed.
• Board certified in their medical specialty.
• Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience.
• Documented record of academic and/or professional leadership.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and staying current with industry trends.
• Ability to engage with community partners and contribute to program development.
• Strong communication and mentorship skills.
• Adherence to professional and ethical standards.
• Willingness to participate in program accreditation and community outreach activities.
