The New York State Office of Children and Family Services is seeking a Family Health Nurse Practitioner to provide primary health care to youth in collaboration with a licensed physician. The role involves assessing physical and psychosocial health, performing examinations, and prescribing medications and immunizations, following established protocols and practice agreements.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary health care to youth in collaboration with a licensed physician.
• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of youth through interviews, health histories, examinations, and diagnostic tests.
• Perform health examinations in accordance with practice protocols and agreements.
• Prescribe medications, devices, and immunizations as appropriate.
• Discuss additional duties during the interview process.

Compensation

• Annual salary of approximately $158,652, including statutory hiring rate, geographic differential, and downstate adjustment.
• Salary paid via W-2 tax model.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Family Health Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
• Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration.
• One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or an eligible title for 70.1 transfer, or eligibility under NY HELPS program.
• Ability to perform health assessments and examinations.
• Knowledge of prescribing medications and immunizations.
• Experience working with youth populations preferred.
• Background check clearance including criminal history and child abuse registry.
• Eligibility for employment verification and background screening as required by NYS.
