The Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) at Outer Cape Health Services provides comprehensive primary care to adult and pediatric patients within a community health setting. Reporting to the Medical Director, the clinician manages routine and urgent health issues, collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, and participates in quality assurance and on-call duties to ensure accessible, patient-centered care in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions for assigned patient panels.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure consistent access to primary and same-day medical services for all patients.
• Supervise and support other healthcare staff such as nurses, medical assistants, and phlebotomists to ensure quality care delivery.
• Perform physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory tests, and support minor office procedures and surgeries as credentialed.
• Manage emergency and walk-in patients, providing timely and appropriate care in collaboration with site staff.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical records in accordance with organizational policies.
• Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and utilization review activities to uphold clinical standards.
• Maintain licensure, certifications, and continuing medical education to stay current with medical practices and standards.

Compensation

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) or Physician Assistant training from an accredited program.
• Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license to practice in Massachusetts.
• BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a community health or outpatient clinic setting preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic health records systems, including EPIC, and standard office software.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; bilingual ability is a plus.
• Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment and maintain confidentiality.
• Possession of a DEA registration number and other prescribing certifications as required.
• In good standing with the medical staff and compliant with all regulatory and organizational policies.
