The Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist collaborates with the hospitalist team to provide inpatient care for adult and geriatric patients with acute, episodic, and critical conditions. The role involves diagnosing and managing complex medical cases, focusing on quality improvement, resource management, and clinical outcomes optimization within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and consult with the MD Hospitalist Program Director and staff hospitalists on inpatient medicine cases.
• Diagnose and manage acute, episodic, and critical disease states in hospitalized patients.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement standardized practice guidelines.
• Utilize quality improvement principles to enhance patient care and clinical outcomes.
• Manage resources effectively to optimize patient care delivery.
• Participate in clinical decision-making for patients at risk of physiologic deterioration or life-threatening instability.
• Maintain documentation and communicate effectively with healthcare team members.
• Adhere to hospital policies and clinical protocols, including BLS and ACLS standards.

Requirements

• Master's prepared Advanced Practice Nursing Degree
• Board Certification in relevant specialty
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting

• Skilled in caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
