The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) at Dayton Children's Main Campus in the Critical Care department provides advanced pediatric healthcare services under physician supervision. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing acute pediatric cases for patients aged 0-21 years, including patient admission, rounds, documentation, and discharge planning.   • Manage patient admissions, conduct rounds, document progress notes, and initiate patient discharges.
  • Participate in staff development, research, and consultation activities related to pediatric care.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and consultant to nursing staff, physicians, and the community on pediatric acute and chronic care needs.
  • Utilize advanced clinical knowledge and skills to promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Work within the hospital's Standard of Care Arrangement in collaboration with attending physicians.

  • Full-time schedule with 24 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of pediatric nursing experience.
  • Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • Certification in Acute Care Nursing.
  • Preferably, PNP with acute care certification and PICU experience.
  • Experience in pediatric assessment, diagnosis, and management.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of hospital protocols and standards of care.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in pediatric critical care.
