This part-time contractual Family Nurse Practitioner position at the Maryland Department of Health's St. Mary's County Health Department involves providing intermittent primary care services at school-based health centers and reproductive health clinics. The role includes diagnosing and managing acute and chronic illnesses, administering medications and vaccines, and providing health education and prevention services. Responsibilities
- Provide primary care services, including diagnosis and management of acute and chronic illnesses for adult and pediatric patients.
- Administer medications, treatments, vaccines, and diagnostic tests.
- Offer health education and preventive care services.
- Provide services at the School Based Health Centers and Reproductive Health Clinic, with potential coverage at other SMCHD clinics.
- Work intermittently on a PRN basis, Monday through Friday, with optional evening and weekend shifts.
- Respond to call requirements as needed, maintaining availability via provided contact information.
- Perform clinical duties in accordance with Maryland State Board of Nursing certification standards.
- Possibly operate a motor vehicle as part of job duties, requiring a valid Maryland driver’s license.
Compensation
- Hourly rate between USD 46.97 and USD 57.84.
- W-2 tax status.

Requirements
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
- At least one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife.
- Education meeting Maryland certification requirements for Nurse Practitioners or Nurse Midwives.
- Possession of a valid Maryland motor vehicle operator's license if required for duties.
- Ability to provide a telephone contact for on-call responsibilities.
- Substitution of military service experience in nursing for the required clinical experience is permitted.
