North Shore Associates in Gynecology and Obstetrics is seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife to provide comprehensive women's health care, including obstetrics, gynecology, and labor support. The provider will see patients in outpatient clinics and attend deliveries at North Shore Hospital, with a focus on physiological birth, VBAC, and unmedicated birth. The role involves collaborative practice within a supportive hospital environment and emphasizes patient advocacy and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-scope midwifery care including gynecological, contraceptive, prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and primary healthcare services.
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations.
  • Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests; develop treatment plans accordingly.
  • Perform medical procedures within scope of practice and clinical privileges.
  • Manage inpatient admissions, coordinate discharge planning, and facilitate follow-up care.
  • Schedule and conduct follow-up appointments, reassess and modify care plans as needed.
  • Consult with other healthcare disciplines to meet patient needs.
  • Attend births at North Shore Hospital, providing labor support and advocating for physiological birth.

Shift & Schedule

  • 17-21 hours of office visits weekly
  • Rotating 4-hour Saturday office every 6th week
  • 24-hour call shifts (7AM-7AM), approximately 5-6 shifts per month, with equitable distribution
  • Variable schedule depending on FTE and staffing needs

Requirements

  • Illinois Professional Registered Nurse License
  • Advanced Practice Nurse License
  • Certification by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (AMCB)
  • Current DEA License and Controlled Substance License
  • Current CPR and NRP certifications
  • Prior obstetrical, reproductive, and sexual health experience preferred
  • Experience in full-scope CNM practice preferred but not required
  • Willingness to provide compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Ability to work rotating office hours and 24-hour call shifts
  • Commitment to team meetings and collaborative practice
