The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for the ICU at East Hospital. The provider will deliver comprehensive patient care in a 18-bed medical ICU, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to manage acute and chronic conditions, provide education, and facilitate preventive health measures within a standard care framework.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to ICU patients with complex pulmonary and critical conditions in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage care during acute and chronic phases of illness, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Educate and counsel patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
• Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers and community resources as appropriate.
• Participate in ICU rounds, documentation, and care planning activities.
• Adhere to clinical protocols and standards established by the medical center and credentialing bodies.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with institutional policies.
• Collaborate with attending physicians and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Current certification to practice as an APRN or PA-C in Ohio.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing or completion of a Nurse Practitioner program eligible for certification.
• Graduate of a PA-C program recognized by the NCCPA, with eligibility for Ohio licensure.
• Eligibility for licensure as an APRN or PA-C in Ohio.
• One year of relevant clinical experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary ICU environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
