The Trauma Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager provides clinical leadership and administrative oversight for the trauma APP team across Premier Health's trauma-affiliated facilities. The role involves direct patient care within trauma services, team management, operational coordination, and collaboration with multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure high standards of trauma care, quality, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clinical competencies and provide high-quality trauma patient care in accordance with program standards and scope of practice.
  • Participate in clinical duties, including weekend and holiday rotations as applicable.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and role model for APP peers.
  • Oversee daily operations of the trauma APP team, including scheduling and provider coverage.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of APP team members.
  • Support compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary communication within the trauma team and with external partners (e.g., EMS, surgical teams, ICU).
  • Track departmental performance metrics, quality indicators, and productivity data, and engage in continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing or a health-related field.
  • Active and unrestricted Ohio licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Certification from a nationally accredited certifying body (e.g., AANP, ANCC, NCCPA).
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice as an APP, with 5 years in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Previous clinical leadership or management experience is preferred.
  • Current CPR and ACLS certification; ATLS certification preferred or required based on policy.
  • Knowledge of trauma system regulations, quality programs (e.g., TQIP), and clinical operations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across disciplines.
  • Ability to manage change, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive team culture.
  • Commitment to professional development and high-quality patient care.
