The advanced nurse practitioner will assist physicians in managing patient care across ambulatory and acute settings within various specialties. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, performing diagnostic and routine procedures, prescribing medications within scope, and coordinating patient care and discharge planning under physician supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
  • Perform routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care.
  • Assist in managing complex illnesses and injuries as privileged by credentialing standards.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications within authorized scope of practice.
  • Perform in-hospital consultations, facilitate discharge planning, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in quality monitoring through record and treatment plan reviews.
  • Complete discharge summaries, provide patient education, and confirm follow-up appointments.

Compensation

  • Salary compensation model (W-2 employment).

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited APRN training program.
  • Current Ohio RN and APRN licensure.
  • Valid Ohio certificate of authority and prescriptive authority.
  • Current DEA registration (for Interventional Radiology, if applicable).
  • Experience in acute, surgical, critical care, or trauma settings preferred.
  • BLS certification required within six months of hire; additional certifications such as ACLS may be required based on specialty.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare team members.
  • Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient-centered care skills.
  • Ability to work variable schedules, including call and off-hour shifts.
