The position is for a full-time Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Anesthesiology Assistant (AA) within the Moffitt Anesthesiology Department. The role involves providing anesthesia care to cancer patients under supervision, including preoperative evaluation, anesthesia administration, intraoperative management, and postoperative care, following ASA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs and reviews preoperative anesthetic evaluations.
• Collaborates with anesthesiologists to develop and implement anesthetic plans.
• Notifies supervising anesthesiologist of significant changes in patient status.
• Recognizes and treats cardiac arrhythmias during anesthesia.
• Initiates emergency resuscitation measures when necessary.
• Orders pre-anesthetic medications and monitors patients as per ASA guidelines.
• Serves as a preceptor for anesthesia students and supports nursing and staff.
• Documents anesthetic records accurately, including medication administration details.

Compensation

• Hourly rate of USD 89.15.
• Sign-on bonus included.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Training, experience, and education consistent with completion of an AANA or AA-approved program.
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Ability to work within the scope of practice per protocol and state statutes.
• Experience in anesthesia procedures such as regional, spinal, and general anesthesia.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with medical team.
• Knowledge of ASA guidelines and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to recognize and manage intraoperative complications.
• Experience in postoperative patient management.
• Leadership qualities and ability to serve as a preceptor.
