This full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position in Neurology at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND involves providing patient-centered care for a diverse neurological patient population. The role includes inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, collaboration with physicians, and opportunities for professional growth within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing neurological care.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills to provide neurological care.
• Work independently and collaboratively with physicians and healthcare professionals.
• Manage a patient population with diagnoses such as migraine, epilepsy, dementia, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular disorders, and neuropathy.
• Perform neurodiagnostic procedures including EEGs (inpatient and ambulatory) and EMGs.
• Conduct inpatient consults (2-4 per day) with daily follow-up and rounding.
• See 10-15 outpatient patients per day.
• Participate in inpatient call coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with MD support.
• Emphasize health promotion and disease prevention in patient care.

Compensation

• Hourly rate of $56.37, with potential additional bonuses including performance, productivity, and quality incentives.
• Compensation is provided on a W-2 basis.

Shift & Schedule

• Full-time, 1.0 FTE, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
• Inpatient call coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with MD support and collaboration.

Requirements

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Bachelor's/Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse (if NP) and Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the appropriate state.
• Current CPR certification.
• National certification in the applicable area.
• Previous experience in Neurology preferred.
• Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
• Ability to perform neurodiagnostic procedures such as EEGs and EMGs.
• Strong patient-centered communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to participate in inpatient call coverage.
