The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) specializing in Cardiac Surgery for a full-time, rotational shift position at Ross Heart Hospital. The provider will deliver comprehensive pre- and post-surgical care, including ICU management, in collaboration with licensed physicians, focusing on acute and chronic cardiac conditions, health education, and patient referrals.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-surgical management of cardiac surgery patients, including ICU care.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to deliver patient-centered care.
• Manage care during acute and chronic phases of illness within authorized scope.
• Educate and counsel patients and families on health management and prevention.
• Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers and community resources as needed.
• Perform medical services authorized by credentialing and licensure bodies.
• Participate in clinical documentation and maintain compliance with medical standards.
• Work within a team to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Current Ohio APRN license or eligibility for Ohio licensure as a PA-C.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program recognized for certification eligibility.
• Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent graduate degree; or PA-C certification recognized by NCCPA.
• Certification eligibility for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants in Ohio.
• 0 years of relevant experience required; ICU experience preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and variable schedule days.
