Wound Care Specialist

Advantage Surgical and Wound Care is seeking a Part-Time Wound Care Specialist (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to perform wound care rounds in multiple post-acute care facilities within the North Bay-Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Napa, and Sonoma areas. The role involves conducting patient assessments, wound debridement, and collaborating with facility staff to ensure effective wound management, primarily serving geriatric populations in skilled nursing and assisted living settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments focusing on wound risk factors.
• Perform bedside wound debridement and apply appropriate dressings.
• Collaborate with facility staff to develop and implement wound care plans.
• Educate nursing staff on wound care procedures and best practices.
• Maintain communication with primary care physicians, families, and clinical teams.
• Order medications and provide clear instructions for their use.
• Deliver wound care at multiple facilities within a designated territory.
• Ensure quality patient care in post-acute and long-term care settings.

Compensation

• Salary of approximately $149,042 annually ($577 daily).
• Sign-on bonus offered.
• W-2 employment with tax withholding.

Shift & Schedule

• Monday through Friday, dayshift schedule.
• No call, evenings, or weekend work required.
• Part-time position with a commitment of 4 days per week.

Requirements

• Active state medical license (MD, DO, PA, or NP).
• Board certification preferred (Family Practice or Internal Medicine).
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Experience in wound care and post-acute care settings is preferred.
• Ability to perform wound debridement and apply dressings.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Comfortable working independently with clinical autonomy.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
• Visual and hearing acuity required for patient assessments.
• No supervisory responsibilities required.
