The role involves administering anesthesia, monitoring patients during procedures, and assisting in perioperative patient care, with a focus on safety, quality, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Administer general and regional anesthesia during surgical procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and respiration, before and during procedures.
• Assist in managing patient care prior to and after anesthesia administration.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and provide emergency medical assistance as needed.
• Gather and update patient data from charts and care team communications, maintaining accurate records.
• Coordinate with anesthesia and clinical staff to support ventilator management and pain control post-procedure.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, DOH, and OSHA standards, and maintain equipment such as EKG machines, ventilators, and anesthesia apparatuses.
• Collaborate with team members to meet patient care standards, safety metrics, and quality goals.

Compensation

• Annual salary of $232,000, with a range up to $240,000.
• Sign-on bonus of $50,000.

Requirements

• Current Anesthesiology Assistant Certification by the state of Florida.
• 1-3 years of anesthesiology assistant experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
• Current CPR certification; ACLS certification preferred.
• Proficiency with healthcare documentation systems such as EPIC, and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, demonstrate reliability, and adapt to changing schedules.
• Knowledge of equipment including EKG, endotracheal tubes, anesthesia gas apparatuses, and ventilators.
