The Ohio State University is seeking a Radiologist Assistant (RRA) to perform advanced imaging procedures under radiologist supervision in the Department of Radiology at University Hospital. The role involves patient assessment, management, and executing selected diagnostic imaging procedures, functioning as an extension of radiologic technologists, with a focus on maintaining high standards of patient care within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform selected diagnostic imaging procedures under radiologist supervision, including esophagram, barium swallow, GI series, joint injections, lumbar punctures, thoracentesis, and PICC placements.
  • Assess and manage patients before, during, and after imaging procedures.
  • Make initial observations but do not provide official interpretations or prescriptions.
  • Provide radiologic technologist duties as needed within the scope of practice.
  • Request privileges for optional procedures such as enteroclysis, cholangiography, myelography, and biopsies.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and state licensing and certification requirements.
  • Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and RRA certifications.
  • Work in a hospital setting with scheduled hours during the day shift, Monday through Friday.

Compensation

  • Salary-based compensation model.
  • Sign-on bonus of $15,000.
  • W-2 tax status.

  • Monday through Friday, dayshift schedule.
  • 8-hour shifts during regular daytime hours.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with documented completion of a recognized radiologist assistant program by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current certification as a Radiologist Assistant by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Unrestricted license from the Ohio Medical Board to practice as a Radiologist Assistant.
  • Licensed as a Radiographer by the Ohio Department of Health and certified by the ARRT.
  • Ability to perform a range of diagnostic imaging procedures within the scope of privileges.
  • Excellent patient assessment and management skills.
  • Strong understanding of radiologic procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety.
