The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), including Physician Assistants (PA) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN), works collaboratively with physicians in a hospital inpatient setting to care for acutely and chronically ill or injured patients. The role involves providing direct patient care, performing invasive procedures as appropriate, and ensuring quality outcomes within legal and institutional guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and work under supervision or in consultation, performing services within the scope of practice and authorized by the supervising physician.
• Provide inpatient care for acute, chronic, or injured patients in the hospital setting.
• Perform various invasive procedures as authorized and appropriate.
• Promote quality improvement initiatives and patient safety.
• Practice within applicable state laws, regulations, and the terms of the Supervision Agreement or Standard Care Arrangement.
• Maintain current licensure and certification as required by state and national certifying bodies.
• Adhere to delineation of privileges and practice protocols.
• Work in a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8-hour days.

Compensation

Requirements

• Current Physician Assistant license to practice in Ohio, maintained through the State Medical Board of Ohio.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• OR current APRN license from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Certification from a recognized national certifying body such as ANCC, AANP, or AACN.
• Ability to perform invasive procedures as authorized.
• Experience working in a hospital inpatient setting preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable state laws, regulations, and practice standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to quality patient care and continuous learning.
• Work authorization to practice in Ohio.
