The position is for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Adult Medicine located in Hartford, Connecticut. It is a full-time, exempt role within the Department of Adult Medicine, requiring clinical expertise, licensure, and the ability to provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical care to adult patients according to established standards and protocols.
• Take medical histories, assess medical conditions, and interpret clinical findings.
• Maintain timely, thorough, and accurate documentation of clinical encounters.
• Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders both orally and in writing.
• Use electronic health record systems and other computer tools proficiently.
• Perform duties as assigned, including potential additional clinical or administrative tasks.
• Ensure compliance with organizational quality measures and evidence-based clinical decisions.
• Possibly provide culturally competent care to a diverse patient population.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
• Valid State of Connecticut licensure as an APRN or PA.
• Possession or eligibility for DEA and state narcotic registration.
• Deep knowledge of nursing or PA clinical practice and standards.
• Experience in an ambulatory or urgent care setting (preferred 1-2 years).
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members, both orally and in writing.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
• Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.
• Successful passing of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Spanish language skills are preferred.
