The Surgical/Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Associate (PA), or Advanced Practice Provider (APP) collaborates with physicians in a hospital inpatient setting, primarily in ICU and progressive care units, providing care to critically ill and injured patients. The role involves performing invasive procedures and making independent clinical decisions within the scope of practice and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians in the inpatient hospital setting, primarily in ICU, medical, cardiac, trauma, and surgical units.
• Perform invasive procedures as authorized and appropriate.
• Make high-level independent clinical decisions in the care of critically ill and injured patients.
• Work under supervision and in consultation with a physician, following a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA).
• Promote quality outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Practice within applicable state laws, licensing boards, and privileges delineation.
• Provide patient care in accordance with the physician’s scope of practice and hospital policies.
• Maintain documentation and communication with the healthcare team regarding patient status and treatment plans.

Compensation

• Salary compensation model (W-2 tax status).

Shift & Schedule

• Variable work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Full-time position with approximately 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in a relevant healthcare field.
• Current RN license in Ohio (Ohio Board of Nursing).
• Ability to perform invasive procedures and make independent clinical decisions.
• Experience working in critical care or similar inpatient settings preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable state laws, licensing requirements, and hospital policies.
• Ability to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, or holidays.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Compliance with supervision or care arrangement agreements with physicians.
• Commitment to quality patient care and continuous learning.
• Must have a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) with a physician.
