A locum Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery is sought for an inpatient role at a Level III Trauma Center. The position involves scheduled clinical hours with on-call responsibilities, focusing on vein harvesting procedures and managing a small patient load per shift. The assignment is ongoing, starting in July 2025, with no visa sponsorship provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care in a Level III Trauma setting, managing 3-7 patients per shift.
• Perform vein harvesting procedures efficiently.
• Participate in scheduled clinical hours, including on-call duties.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to support cardiothoracic procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the EPIC EMR system.
• Respond to call duties as required, with variable schedule hours.
• Ensure compliance with all clinical protocols and safety standards.
• Maintain current certifications and licensure as required.

Compensation

• 1099 tax status with a compensation model categorized as 'Other'.

Shift & Schedule

• Variable schedule with 8-hour clinical shifts.
• On-call responsibilities required, with some call duties scheduled as needed.
• Work hours include scheduled clinical hours plus on-call duties, approximately 8 hours per day.

Requirements

• Board Certified Physician Assistant in Cardiothoracic Surgery or related specialty.
• Active Ohio Physician Assistant license.
• Current certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, and BLS.
• Experience with vein harvesting procedures preferred.
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced inpatient environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability to start in July 2025 for an ongoing assignment.
• Must be able to handle variable schedule hours and on-call duties.
