AmeriWound is seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in Columbus, OH, to provide wound care services in long-term care facilities. The role involves weekly facility rounds, diagnosis, and treatment of wound conditions, with no evenings, weekends, or call required. The position offers part-time hours with potential for full-time employment, competitive compensation, and comprehensive support including EMR documentation and malpractice coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Round weekly at assigned long-term care facilities within the territory.
  • Diagnose patient conditions through physical examinations and telemedicine as appropriate.
  • Perform medical procedures such as debridement when necessary.
  • Communicate and collaborate with facility clinical staff regarding findings and treatment plans.
  • Educate patients about diagnoses and treatment goals.
  • Document each patient encounter accurately in the EMR system (APRIMA) and maintain medical records.
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and facilities as needed.
  • Perform physical activities including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Compensation

  • Uncapped W-2 earning potential, directly related to provider availability, documentation, patient encounters, and facilities covered.
  • Projected annual salary of USD 175,000 to USD 195,000 for full-time providers.
  • Salary plus incentives model.

  • DEA license.
  • Valid driver license.
  • At least two years of experience as a solo practitioner preferred.
  • Proficiency in EMR documentation with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to build rapport with facility staff and patients.
  • Technical skills in medical procedures such as debridement.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
