We are seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care within a community hospital serving Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. The role offers full autonomy in managing births with physician support for high-risk cases, and involves hospital rounding, inpatient deliveries, and outpatient care in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-scope obstetrical and well-women gynecological care in a clinical setting.
  • Perform hospital rounding in collaboration with OB/GYN physicians.
  • Manage inpatient deliveries with full autonomy, supported by physician backup for high-risk cases.
  • Participate in rotating call schedule, averaging 7-8 days per month.
  • Maintain flexibility to accommodate variable scheduling needs.
  • Build strong patient-provider relationships and contribute to program development.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and clinical protocols.

Compensation

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
  • Current or compact RN licensure in Virginia.
  • Certification as a Nurse Midwife.
  • Flexibility with scheduling and availability for rotating call.
  • Strong clinical skills in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented and adaptable to changing clinical needs.
  • Willingness to work in a hospital setting with collaborative physicians.
  • Ability to work full-time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with inpatient deliveries preferred.
