This locum anesthesia assistant position in southern Oklahoma involves providing anesthesia support in a hospital setting under supervision by MDAs. The role includes managing multiple operating rooms with a variety of case types, primarily during daytime hours, with no scheduled call duties. The assignment is ongoing, starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with anesthesia administration under supervision by MDAs in a hospital environment.
  • Manage anesthesia cases across general, orthopedic, and obstetric procedures.
  • Oversee five to six operating rooms, including an endoscopy suite and obstetrics cases.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing and vaccination requirements, including DEA, OBNDD, and flu vaccines.
  • Utilize EPIC electronic medical records for documentation.
  • Work Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3 pm, with no scheduled call duties but occasional call opportunities.
  • Maintain adherence to safety and clinical protocols during procedures.
  • Support anesthesia team in preoperative and postoperative patient care as needed.

  • 1099 compensation model (tax status).

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Availability to start ASAP and commit to ongoing coverage.
  • Compliance with hospital and state licensing and vaccination requirements.
  • Previous experience in a hospital anesthesia setting is preferred.
