Spero Health is seeking an Addiction Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide outpatient medication-assisted treatment for individuals with substance use disorders, primarily opioid addiction. The role involves comprehensive patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and coordination with an interdisciplinary team to deliver integrated physical and behavioral healthcare in a community-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing support for patients with complex addiction and substance-related health conditions.
• Complete documentation to support billing for services rendered.
• Educate patients and families about illness, prognosis, and treatment goals.
• Interpret test results, diagnose health issues, and provide feedback to patients.
• Counsel patients on medication compliance and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver medical and behavioral health services.
• Conduct follow-up visits to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as needed.
• Communicate with patients' primary care providers and specialists when necessary.

Compensation

Requirements

• Active and unrestricted nurse practitioner license in the applicable state.
• Experience providing addiction medicine services to complex populations.
• Ability to manage complex substance use disorders.
• Current DEA licensure and prescriptive authority in the state(s) of practice.
• Ability to work on-site with diverse healthcare teams.
• Effective time management and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records systems.
• Experience in developing patient relationships with community providers.
• Ability to interpret lab results and collaborate with team members on treatment adjustments.
• Maintain required licensure, certifications, and CME credits.
