The Principal Faculty member in the Physician Assistant Program at South University is a full-time instructor responsible for course instruction, curriculum development, student assessment, and program accreditation activities. The role involves teaching in both didactic and clinical phases, advising students, and participating in program evaluation and community engagement. The position includes a $10,000 signing bonus and requires adherence to academic and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate courses in the Physician Assistant Program, including lectures, clinical instruction, and academic advising.
• Assist the Directors of Didactic and Clinical Education with program administration and curriculum development.
• Evaluate student performance through exams, OSCEs, lab practicals, and clinical assessments.
• Develop and align examinations with ARC-PA standards and NCCPA content blueprints.
• Participate in accreditation activities, program evaluation, and admissions processes.
• Contribute to faculty development, clinical site development, and community engagement.
• Provide remedial instruction and support student success as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by program leadership in accordance with institutional policies.

Compensation

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Terminal degree as a Physician Assistant.
• Current or emeritus NCCPA certification.
• Eligibility for state licensure or holding an active, valid, and unencumbered state license.
• 2 years of clinical experience required.
• 1-2 years of teaching experience in a graduate health-related program preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills, including MS Office, ExamSoft, and WebAdMIT.
• Ability to work collaboratively, interpret accreditation criteria, and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to adapt to changing assignments and meet deadlines.
