The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) in Colorectal Surgery to deliver healthcare services in collaboration with licensed physicians. The role involves managing acute and chronic conditions, providing preventive care, education, and referrals within a hospital setting, primarily at the Brain and Spine Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide healthcare services to patients in collaboration with attending physicians, including care during acute and chronic illness phases.
• Perform authorized medical services as per licensure and credentialing standards.
• Educate and counsel patients and families on health management and prevention.
• Manage patient care within the scope of practice, including health promotion and disease prevention.
• Refer patients to other healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Work within a standard care or supervisory agreement with physicians.
• Participate in clinical documentation and maintain compliance with institutional policies.

Requirements

• Current Ohio APRN certification or PA-C certification recognized by NCCPA.

• Eligibility for Ohio licensure as an APRN or PA-C.
• No prior years of experience required; 0-2 years preferred.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
