The Physician Assistant (PA) will support medical activities at VHC Health Physicians, working under a PA Agreement that defines their scope of practice, including patient load, treatment types, and prescriptive authority. The role involves collaborating with physicians to deliver quality care, adhere to compliance standards, and contribute to performance metrics within a value-based compensation model.

Responsibilities

• Support medical activities as outlined in the PA Agreement, including patient care, treatments, and procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians to evaluate patient conditions and determine appropriate interventions.
• Implement quality control standards, risk management, and compliance programs.
• Support objectives related to budget, performance metrics, and overall clinical performance.
• Maintain prescriptive authority and perform approved invasive procedures as authorized.
• Participate in implementing and monitoring clinical protocols and standards.
• Ensure documentation and record-keeping meet regulatory and institutional requirements.
• Support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in a team environment.

Compensation

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• One year of Physician Assistant experience preferred.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members.
• Knowledge of quality standards, risk management, and compliance protocols.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Experience with prescriptive authority and invasive procedures as authorized.
